On motion of Mr. Clarke,
The bill entitled, an Act to pay A. Lingan Jarrett the bal-
ance of his salary as late Comptroller of the Treasury,
Was recommitted to the Committee on Claims.
Mr. King presented, (the rules being suspended,) the peti-
tion of William H. Baldwin, Jr., and others, praying the
passage of a law authorizing the commissioners of Howard
county, to borrow a sum of money to enable them to repair
and reconstruct bridges, and to repair the public roads in said
county;
Which was read and referred to Howard and Anne Arun-
del delegations.
Mr. Clarke, chairman of the Committee on Claims, report-
ed favorably, with proposed amendment, the bill entitled, an
Act to pay A. Lingan Jarrett the balance of his salary as
late Comptroller of the Treasury.
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Amend in line 3, after the word "Jarrett," strike out
"three thousand six hundred and eighty-five," and insert
"four thousand nine hundred and three dollars and sixty ets."
