( 110 ) Conditions as are expressed in the Conditions of our Said Province bearing date the Second day of ffebry One thousand Six hundred eighty two and remaining on Record in our said Province of Maryland, did for the Condicons grant unto the said George Carter that the aforesd Land Called Carters Lodge lying in Somerset County on the East Side of Nanticoke River a litle to the Northward of wetipqueen Creek partly in woodland & do. in marsh bounded as followeth Begining at a marked Gum on the North Side of a glade of Swamp being a Corner tree of a percell of Land formerly laid out thence with a line drawn North North east eighty pearches to a marked Pine on a point thence with a line W. N. W. fourty pearches thences S. W. by W. One hundred perches thence S W. by S. One hundred twenty two perches thence S. E. Seventy perches to a marked white Oake on the Northermost part of A hammock of woodland in marishes near the mouth of wetipqueen Creek being a Corner tree dividing from A percell of Land formerly Surveyed for Julian: Measick, thence North fifty pearches. thence E. S. E. three hundred and eighty pearches, thence N. N. E. One hundred and eight pearches, and from thence with a right line drawn to the first Bounder. Conteining and now laid out for three hundred and fifty acres of Land more or less according to the Certificate of Survey thereof taken and returned in the land Office at the Citty of St. Maries and there remaining on Record as the Pattent more fully declares, togeather with all rights profitts and priveledges thereunto belonging - Royal mines Excepted. Now this Indenture further wittnesseth, that the above named George Carter and Mary his wife for the Consideration of Six thousand pounds of tobacco good Sound Merchantable in hand paid by the within named Henry Mayle. before the ensealing and delivery hereof whereof, and wherewith the sd George Carter and Mary his wife doe acknowledge themselves fully Satisfied and paid, and doe of and for every part or percell thereof acquitt and discharge the aforesd Henry Mayle, his Heirs Exectors Administrators and Assigns for ever, and by these presents have given granted bargained and Sold,alienated enfeoffed and Confirmed, unto the sd Henry:Mayle and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever, all the aforesd Land aforesd Called Carters Lodge, as also the aforesd George Carter and Mary his wife for themselves their Heirs, Extors Admrs and Assigns, grant bargain and Sell as aforesd to the Said Henry Mayle &c.as aforesd for ever, all and Singular the Pattents,Indentures, Counterpains, writings Coveyances or any other writing or way whatsoever,with all and Singular the premises thereunto pertaining or belonging unto him the Said Henry Mayle &c. doe engage to keep this my alienation or Sale good and free from former Sales, grants, Mortgages or incumbrances whatsoever from our Selves our Heirs Extors Admrs or Assigns or any other way or manner whatsoever in Law, unto him the said Henry Mayle him his Heirs Extors, Admrs and Assigns for ever, As wittness our hands and Seals this Seventh day of Janry Anno. One thousand Six hundred and ninety, and in the 2d.year of the reign of William and Mary King and Queen of England &c Defend &c.
