320 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 27,

Mr. McLane, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the reference of
disputes between masters and workmen to arbitration.

Which was read the first time, and,
On motion by Mr. McLane,

Ordered to be printed, and made the order of the day for
Thursday, the 28th inst.

Mr. Miller, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the appointment of
an additional Justice of the Peace in and for the Fifth Dis-
trict of Talbot County.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Stump, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the appointment

of an additional Justice of the Peace for the Third Election
District, in Harford County.

Which was read the first time.
On motion by Mr. Bannon,

The rules were suspended, so as to give a second reading
this day to said bill, by yeas and nays, as follows :
