CHAP, CXXXIV.
An Act to authorise the Commissioners of the Town of
Havre-de-Grace to convey certain lands therein men-
tioned.

CHAP. 134.
Passed Feb. 25 1829

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the commissioners of the town of Havre-de-
Grace; in Harford county, be and the same are hereby autho-
rised, if to them it shall seem fit to do so, to dispose of, and
to convey, by deed in fee-simple, to Abraham J. Thomas
and William M. Lansdale, respectively, all the public pro-
perty, consisting of streets and alleys, in the addition of
said town, which have heretofore been rented out by the
said commissioners, and now under the enclosure of Abra-
ham J. Thomas and William M. Lansdalc, at such price as
they shall deem proper.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That should the aforesaid
commissioners make sale of said land, as authorised by this
act, that then and in, and in that case, the streets and alleys
within the aforesaid enclosures, shall be shut up.

An Act for the benefit of the Heirs at Law of John 'Ea-
ger Howard.

Passed Feb 26, 1829

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That Joseph W. Patterson, George Hoffman, Solo-
mon Etting, James Mosher and Stewart Brown, (commis-
sioners appointed by the high court of chancery to divide
the real estate of the late Colonel John Eager Howard,) or
a majority of them, be and they are hereby authorised and
empowered, to open and condemn as public highways fore-
ver, all such streets, Janes and alleys, or such parts thereof
within the bounds of the said estate, and within the limits
of the city of Baltimore, as they may deem advisable.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That if at any time
hereafter, any of the above mentioned streets, lanes or alleys,
shall be further opened and extended, beyond the limits of
the said estate, and any part of the said estate shall be tax-
ed for such opening or exclusion, then and in such case the
proprietors of any such lot so taxed, shall be considered as
entitled to one half of the bed of the street, immediately in
front of such lot, and shall be entitled to claim damages for
the taking of the same, in the same manner as he or she
might do if the street were then to be first opened and made
public.
