@    Somerset fst Be it Remembred that George Hayward Gent Attorney of the Right Honrble
Sarah Howard    the Lord Propry that now is who for the Same Lord Propry in this Part Prosecuteth doth Come here into
the County Court of the Same Lord Propry held for Somerset County afd. to wit at Princes Ann Town in the Same County
the Eighteenth day of August in the Year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty One before Isaac Handy
Esqr and others his Associates the Said Lord Propry his Justices of the Same County Court and for the Same Lord
Propry doth Give the Same Justices here to understand and be Informed that the Minister Vestrymen and Church
Wardens of Stepney Parish in the County afd. the fourteenth day of Febry in the Year of our Lord one thousand
Seven hundred and Sixty One at the Parish afd. in the County afd. and within the Jurisdiction of this Court
Suspecting then and there of Lewdness and Incontinancey of Sarah Howard Late of the Parish afd. and County
afd. Spinster and James Cathall of the Parish afd. did Cause Notice to be Given to the Said Sarah and
James to Appear before them the Said Minister Vestrymen and Church Wardens on the Twenty third
day of March in the Year afd. Last Mentioned at a Vestry then held by them in the Parish Church of the
Said Parish in the County afd. and that the Said Sarah and the afd. James then and there did Appear
before the Said Minister Vestrymen and Church Wardens the Same Sharah and James having on the
Twentieth day of March in the Year Last afd. Notice Given them so to do and the Same Sarah and
James being Acquainted then and there by the Said Minister Vestrymen and Church Wardens of the
Suspicion that was had of them the Said Sarah and James Incontinancy and were Admonished then &
there by the Said Minister Vestrymen and Church Wardens from Accompanying together and Frequenting
the Company of Each Other the Said Sarah and James haveing not Excused or Acquited themselves of the Ground of
Such Suspicion in Such Manner as the Said Minister Vestrymen and Church Wardens did Approve and the
afd. Atty of the Said Lord Propry doth Give the Same Justices here further to Understand and be Informed that
the afd. Sarah of the Parish and County afd. did Afterwards to wit on the first day of Aprill in the Year Last
Mentioned and at divers other times as well before as Since at the Parish afd. in the County afd. within the
Jurisdiction of this Court Contrary to and after the Admonishion Cohabit with and frequent the Company of
the Said James Contrary to Act of Assembly in that Case Lately made and Provided and Against the peace of the
Said Lord Propry that now is his Good Rule and Government Whereupon the Same Atty of the Same Lord
Propry Prays Advice of the Court here in the Premisses and that due Process of Law in this part Against the afd.
Sarah may be made to Answer unto the Same Lord Propry of and upon the Premisses and So forth
   Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should Take the Said Sarah
Howard if She Should be found in his Bailywick and her Should Safe keep so that he might have her
body before our Justices of our County Court of Somerset to be held at princes Ann Town the third
Tuesday of November Anno Dom. 1761 to Answer unto his Lordship of and Concerning the Information
afd. &c       Att which Said Third Tuesday of November and Year afd. at a Court then held at Princes Ann
for the County of Somerset before the Justices thereof Came the afd. Sarah Howard in her Proper Person and had
a hearing of the Information afd. Saith that She Cannot deny but that She is Guilty of the Premisses in the
Information afd. Above upon here Imposed in manner and form as by the Information afd. Above Against her
Supposed and is Willing to pay her fine for the Same &c.
                                                                                 Whereupon all and Singular the Premisses being Seen &
by the Court fully understood it is Considered by the Court here that the afd. Sarah Howard for the Premisses and
Offence afd. in the Information afd. Above Specified be taken Which Said Sarah Howard Present here in Court
in her Proper Person is fined for the Premisses and Offence afd. the Sum of thirty Shillings Curt. Money of Maryland
which She paid here in Court to the use of the County &c
