RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore advance to Frederick Green, printer to the state, the
sum of six hundred dollars, in part of the salary which may be allowed him on the civil list for the ensuing
year.

Which was read the first and second time by especial order, and the question put, Will the house concur
with the said report, and assent to the resolution therein contained? Resolved in the affirmative. Which was
sent to the senate by the clerk.

A petition from Stephen Yoe, of Queen-Anne's county, a pensioner, stating that he is blind, and praying
some addition to his pension, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Sudler, Mr. Gleaves and Mr. Williams
to consider and report thereon.

The clerk of the senate delivers the following message:

By the S E N A T E, November 11, 1806.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates,

WE agree to go into the election of a council to the governor at the hour mentioned in your message,
and have appointed Mr. Gibson and Mr. Dorsey to join the gentlemen named by you for the examination
of the ballots. No person is nominated by the senate in addition to the list of gentlemen proposed by you
house.

Which was read.

The house, having qualified agreeably to the constitution and form of government, proceeded to the choice of
a council to the governor; the ballots being deposited in the ballot box, the gentlemen named to strike, retired;
and after sometime returned and reported, that Reverdy Ghiselin, Thomas W. Hall, Lewis Duvall, Philip
Reed and James Nabb, bad a majority of votes. Whereupon

RESOLVED, That Reverdy Ghiselin, Thomas W. Hall, Lewis Duvall, Philip Reed and James Nabb, be, and
they are hereby declared to be, the council to the governor.

The house adjourns until to-morrow morning 9 o'clock.

Gentlemen of the Senate,

THE honourable Robert. Wright, Esquire, having been elected governor of the state of Maryland, we have
appointed Mr; Sudler and Mr. Carroll, jointly with such gentlemen as shall be named by your house, to wait
upon the governor, and request his attendance in the senate room, to quality according to the constitution and
form of government.

Mr. Smoot, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the benefit of William,
Mary, Elizabeth, Levin, and Britannia Murphy, of Dorchester county; which was read the first time and or-
dered to lie on the table.

Mr. Forwood, Mr. Shaaff and Mr. Little, have leave of absence.

Mr. Zadock Sturgis, a delegate returned for Worcester county, appeared, and after qualifying in the mode
prescribed by the constitution and form of government, and taking an oath to support the constitution of the
United States, took his seat in the house.

The clerk of the senate delivers the resolution in favour of Frederick Green, endorsed, " assented to. "

A petition from sundry inhabitants of Greensborough, in Caroline county, praying that a law may pass ex-
tending the limits of said town, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Jump, Mr. Keene and Mr. Turpin,
to consider and report thereon.

A report of the president and trustees of Charlotte Hall school was preferred, read, and referred to
the committee appointed to bring in a bill for the encouragement of learning in this state, and for other pur-
puses.

On motion, the question was put, Will the. house give leave to bring in a bill to alter, change and abolish, all
such parts of the constitution and form of government as relate to the time of the meeting of the general as-
sembly, and for other purposes? Resolved in the affirmative.

ORDERED. That Mr. Carroll, Mr. Frisby, Mr. Sudler, Mr. Hawkins and Mr. Comegys, be a committee to

prepare and bring in the same.

A petition from Edward Reynolds, executor of Thomas Reynolds, deceased, of Calvert county, stating, that
William and Robert Mollison, (whose property has been confiscated by the state, ) was largely indebted to the
said Thomas Reynolds, and praying the legislature would grant him some relief, was preferred, cad, and re-
ferred to Mr. Blake, Mr. Downes and Mr. Sudler, to consider and report thereon.
