"Allegany County, " sub-title, "Intoxicating Liquors, " as
well as all laws or parts of laws, whether general or
local inconsistent with the provisions of this Act; and
providing for emergency adoption of this Act.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That thirty-three new sections be, and the same
are hereby added to the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, (Edition of 1930), to be known as Sections 299,
300, 301, 301A, 302, 303, 304, 305, 306, 307, 308, 309, 310,
311, 312, 313, 314, 315, 316, 316A, 316B, 316C, 316D,
316E, 316F, 316G, 316H, 3161, 316J, 316K, 316L, 316M
and 316N of Article I of said Code, title, "Allegany
County, " sub-title, "Alcoholic Beverages, " and to read as
follows:

DEFINITIONS. 299 The words "Alcoholic beverages"
when used in this Act shall be construed to include alcohol,
brandy, whiskey, rum, gin, beer, ale, porter, stout, wine,
and cider, and in addition thereto, any spirituous, vinous,
malt or fermented liquor, liquids and compounds of what-
ever name called, containing one-half of one percentum or
more of alcohol by volume, which are fit for beverage pur-
poses, provided that the foregoing definition shall not ex-
tend to wine and cider when manufactured for home con-
sumption and which are not sold by the maker or manu-
facturer.

(2) The word "person" shall mean and include natural
persons, associations, co-partnerships and corporations.

(3) The word "manufacturer" shall mean any "person"
operating a plant or place of business within this State, for
distilling, brewing, fermenting, blending, rectifying or bott-
ling any "alcoholic beverage" for beverage purposes.

(4) The word "wholesaler" shall mean any "person"
who shall purchase or import any "alcoholic beverages" and
sell the same to "retail dealers. "

(5) The words "retail dealer" shall mean any holder of
a license issued under the provisions of this Act, other than
a "manufacturer" or "wholesaler. "

(6) The words "license holder" shall mean the holder
of any license issued under the provisions of this Act.

(7) The word "importer" means the "person" trans-
porting or shipment of "alcoholic beverages" into the State
of Maryland from any other State or Country, wheth-
