1318 VETOES.

proval by me of this legislation would be but a vain gesture.
Therefore, I have vetoed the bill.

UNCLAIMED DEPOSITS.

Chapter 578, Senate Bill 450, provides that unclaimed
deposits in banking institutions shall be paid into the State
Emergency Relief Fund.

I have been informed that the procedure required to
secure these deposits is too expensive in proportion to the
small amount which would be received. I have, therefore,
vetoed the bill.

UNDERTAKERS.

Chapter 571, Senate Bill 127, relates to the educational
requirements and registration of apprentices of under-
takers.

There seems to me to be no good reason for this legisla-
tion and I have, therefore, vetoed the bill.

VIENNA.

Chapter 560, House Bill 471, extends the boundaries of
the town of Vienna and as the bill makes no provision for
a referendum vote, I have vetoed it.

WAR VETERANS.

Chapter 411, House Bill 541, provides for the making of
a record of the deaths and burial of war veterans and for
locating the burial places of such veterans.

As there seems to be no necessity for this legislation, I
have vetoed the bill.

WASHINGTON COUNTY HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION.

Chapter 170, House Bill 74, amends the Act passed at
the 1933 Special Session, by restoring the said Association
to its original status.

I see no reason for this change and have, therefore, vetoed
the bill.

WICOMICO COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

Chapter 64, House Bill 236, provides for dividing the
County into five Commissioner Districts, with one Commis-
sioner from each District.

The Attorney-General has advised me that, in his opinion,
this Act would be in violation of the Constitutional provi-
sions relating to the election of County Commissioners, and
I have, therefore, vetoed this bill.
