This sub-section shall not apply to college or high school fraterni-
ties or sororities or other fraternal organizations membership in
which is restricted wholly or largely to students or graduates of edu-
cational institutions or professional schools.
Real estate or any estate therein, heretofore or hereafter acquired
and held for future use, and not for investment, by any hospital or
asylum not organized or conducted for profit, provided that the exemp-
tion of property held for future use granted by this sub-section shall
be for the period January 1, 1947, to December 31, [1954] 1958

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That any assessment levied be-
tween December 31, 1954 and the effective date of this Act upon any
real estate or any estate therein acquired and held for future use and
not for investment by any hospital or asylum not organized or con-
ducted for profit shall be abated and cancelled as of the effective date
of this Act; and any tax or taxes paid and collected on any such
property between December 31, 1954 and the effective date of this
Act shall be refunded by the State or the political subdivision collect-
ing the same, as the case may be.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

AN ACT to add a new Section 259B to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition), being Article 2 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Anne Arundel
County", sub-title "County Commissioners", to follow immediately
after Section 259A thereof, as said Section 259A was enacted by
Chapter 569 of the Acts of 1953, relating to certain payments to
the Anne Arundel County Trade Council.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 259B be and it is hereby added to the Code of
