She gave herself to her work without stint, and her loss will be felt in
the legislative processes of her native State; now therefore be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the deepest
sympathy of this Body be expressed over the untimely passing of
Miss Jane Sauer; and be it further

Resolved, That the Secretary of State of Maryland be directed to
prepare a copy of this resolution under the Great Seal of the State of
Maryland and suitably endorsed by the Governor of Maryland, the
President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Delegates,
with the Resolution then to be sent to Mrs. J. Casper Sauer, 1900
Dixon Road, Baltimore 9, Maryland.

(Senate Joint Resolution 18)

Senate Joint Resolution congratulating and commending the Uni-
versity of Maryland on the occasion of its Centennial celebration
and the University's College of Medicine on its Sesquicentennial
observance.

The University of Maryland, the shining symbol of higher educa-
tion in the Free State of Maryland, begins on March 3 the centennial
observance of its founding as the Maryland Agriculture College in
1856.

At the same time, the renowned College of Medicine of the Uni-
versity, will mark the sequicentennial of its establishment in 1807.

Both of these milestones in the history of the Free State will be
commemorated by a joint celebration to be entitled "Education,
Research and Service—The Story of the University of Maryland".

The joint celebration will be inaugurated with a four day exhibit
beginning on March 3, composed of 108 displays and projects from
the University's educational departments, colleges and professional
schools of both the Baltimore and College Park campuses.

It is right and fitting that the General Assembly of Maryland
should note with a sense of pride and dignity the celebration of these
milestones in the history of the Free State; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That this body
sincerely congratulate the University of Maryland on the occasion of
its centennial and sesquicentennial observances, and be it further
