CHAPTER 4.

27, 1856.

AN ACT entitled an act to authorise the Circuit Court
for Baltimore City, to pass a decree for the sale of
certain real estate belonging to the Christ Church in
Baltimore City and others.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assembly,
That a bill has been filed in the Circuit Court for
Baltimore City, by the Vestry of Christ Church in
the city of Baltimore and others, for the sale of a lot of
ground situate in said city heretofore used as a burial
ground by the said Vestry, and certain lot holders, it
being the same parcel of ground conveyed by David
Williamson, to the Vestry of Saint Paul's Parish in
the city of Baltimore, and afterwards conveyed by
the Vestry of Saint Paul's Parish, to the said Vestry
of Christ Church, and that notice has been given in a
newspaper in the city of Baltimore, of the objects and
purposes of said bill, and it being doubtful whether
there is jurisdiction in the said court, to pass a decree
for the sale of said lot of ground; Therefore,

SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the notice heretofore given of the
objects and purposes of said bill be sufficient to bind all
persons claiming an interest as lot holders in the said Jot
of ground, whether they are entitled as heir, assignee or
other representative of the original lot holders in said
lot, and whether they be non-residents or infants, and
that the said circuit court for Baltimore city is hereby in-
vested with complete jurisdiction without further notice
upon being satisfied by affidavits or otherwise, that it

would be for the interest and advantage of all parties in-
terested in the said lot of ground that the same shall be
sold immediately, to pass a decree for the sale of the
same, upon such terms as shall be proper, and to dis-
tribute the proceeds of said sale among the parties in-
terested equitably according to their several interests,
as the same shall be shewn to the said court.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That any decree passed
by the said court, for the sale of the said lot of ground
shall be valid to pass the title to the purchaser or pur-
chasers of the same or any part thereof free, clear and
discharged from the said Vestry of Christ's Church in
Baltimore city, its successor or any person claiming
under them; and free, clear and discharged from the
