SECTION 13. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland read
as follows:

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the moneys credited to the
Law Enforcement and Correctional Training Fund under this Act shall be used exclusively [by
the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services for funding capital projects on a
pay-as-you-go basis, as reflected each year in the Department's operating budget beginning in
Fiscal Year 1990, or a lease agreement as approved by the Budget Committees, ] for the
purposes of design, equipping, and construction of the [Public Safety Training Center]

SECTION 14. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland read
as follows:

(a) (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated.

(2)      "Fund" means the Law Enforcement and Correctional Training Fund.

(7)      The Fund shall be subject to an audit by the division of audits as provided
for in § 2-1215 of the State Government Article.

(8)      The purpose of the Fund is to provide an additional source of funding for the
training needs of law enforcement and correctional officers of the State and of local
jurisdictions.
