     Know all men by these
   presents that I Charles
  Picket of Howard county
 in the state of maryland
for and in consideration of
                    the sum of Fifty three Dollars and fourteen
                    cents current Money to me in hand
                    paid by Jesse P. Todd of Frederick county
                    in said state at and before the sealing
                    and delivery of these presents the receipt
                    whereof I do hereby acknowledge have
                    granted bargained and sold and by these
                    presents do grant bargain and sell unto
                    the said Jesse P. Todd his executors administrators
                    and assigns all the goods &c
                    being one Bay mare aged about seven
                    years all and singular which said Mare
                    is now in the possession of the said Charles
                    Picket.  To Have and To Hold all and singular
                    the said Mare as aforesaid described
                    bargained and sold or mentioned
                    and intended so to be to the said Jesse P.
                    Todd his executors administrators and
                    assigns forever and I the said Charles Pickett
                    for my self my heirs executors and administrators
                    all and singular the said
                    Mare unto the said Jesse P. Todd his
                    executors administrators and assigns
                    against me the said Charles Picket
                    my executors and administrators and
                    against all and every other person or
