 I Amelia Harding of Howard County
in the state of Maryland in consideration of six hundred
and fifty dollars paid me by George Y Wethred
President of Carroll County in said State do
hereby bargain and sell to the said George Y
                            Wetherd my negro slave Henry for the term of eight years from the
                            date hereof the said negro being a slave for the term of 8 years from
                            the date hereof and no longer and the said Amelia Harding being entitled
                            to the said slave the whole of said term
                                         Witness our hands and seals this first day of September
                            in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty eight

                      and sell to the said Samuel Wethered jr my negro slave John Henry

                      no longer and the said Amelia Harding being entitled to said slave
