  Manumission to
Susan Jackson
This Indenture made this ninth day
of November in the year of our Lord
Eighteen hundred and fifty eight
Witnesseth:  That I Richard Disney
of Baltimore County in the state of Maryland do hereby manumit
and set free my negro slave woman Susan Jackson now
aged about thirty two years dark copper colour her freedom it
is hereby acknowledged did commence from the first day of November
Eighteen hundred and fifty four.  Witness my hand and
seal on the day and year first above written herein

State of Maryland Howard County to wit:
Be it remembered that on this ninth day of November in
the year Eighteen hundred and fifty eight before me the subscriber
one of the Justices of the peace of the state of Maryland in and
for Howard County and acknowledges the fore going Instrument
of writing to be his act and deed

I John H Hall of Howard County in
the state of Maryland in consideration
of eight hundred and fifty dollars paid
me by Claudius Stewart of the County
                      and state aforesaid do hereby bargain and sell to the said
                      Stewart my negro man named William Howard aged
                      about Eighteen years, slave for life.  Witness my hand
                      and seal this fourt day of December Eighteen hundred
                      and fifty Eight

                      I hereby certify that on this fourth day of December Eighteen
                      hundred and fifty eight personally appeared before the subscriber
                      a justice of the Peace for Howard County aforesaid John H
                      Hall and acknowledged the aforegoing bill of sale to be his act
                      and at the same time appeared before me Claudius Stewart the
                      grantee in the said bill of sale ^named^ and made oath that the consideration
                      set forth in said bill of sale is true and bona fida as therein set forth
