Thomas Burgess
Collectors Bond to
State of Maryland
Know all men by these presents
That we Thomas Burgess George Ellicott
and William Gibbons all of Howard
County and State of Maryland are
held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in
the full and just sum of four thousand dollars current
money to be paid to the said State or its certain attorney
or assigns to which payment well and truly to be made
and done we bind ourselves and each of us our and each
of our heirs Executors and administrators Jointly and
Severally firmly by these presents Sealed with our seals
and dated this Eleventh day of April in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty
    Now the Condition of the above obligation is such that
if the above bound Thomas Burgess shall well and faithfully
execute this office as Collector of the State taxes
and shall well and truly account for and pay over to the
Treasurer of the State of Maryland the several sums of
money which he shall receive or be chargeable with or
answerable for at such times as the law directs then
this obligation to be void otherwise to be and remain in
full force and virtue

George E Richardson
I Charles J Richardson of Howard
county in the State of Maryland
in consideration of the
sum of Fifteen hundred and
Twenty five dollars paid me by George E Richardson
of the said Howard County do hereby bargain and sell unto
the said George E Richardson the following property my
negro slaves named as follows Mary and two children
Sophia and Ann Maria all slaves for life  And I covenant
that I will warrant specially the property hereby
granted  Witness my hand and seal this 22nd day of March
