And be encouraged to persevere in the Churches Service
Wherein he will never forgett to pray for your honours happy-
ness both in your owne persons and posterity's whom God
long preserve in peace and tranquillity

Which being read and debated
Its Resolved it be granted upon the peticoners humble
sence of his past Errore and the Strong Assureance he gives
of forsaking them and Amending his life this house are con-
tent to become humble Supplicants to your Excy for your
favour in making one tryall more of him in hopes that he will
make good in his future life and conversation what is promised
in his peticon which if he failes of that yor Excy will Suspend
him for ever Signd p order Wm Taylard Cl h D.

Orderd it be sent up to his Excy by Mr John Wells and Mr
Robert Skinner
They returne and say they deliverd the same

Mr Speaker brought into the house the Answer to his
Excys Speech by him prepar'd, Which was orderd to be read
and entred as followeth viz'

To his Excy the Governr

The reason wee did not sooner give Answer to yor Excys
Speech was because wee were desireous to have as full a
house As could be had on so solemn an Occasion.
Wee have reced and Carefully debated the contents there-
of and as Wee are well assured of her Majty our gracious
Queens goodness and virtue in her unwearyd care and pro-
tection of All her subjects and the wise constitucon of her
Government, so wee Esteem our selves very happy in a
Governour that imitates so glorious an Example for Wee can-
not but observe through your plaine Elegant discourse A Gen-
erous English Zeale for her Maj's service Ioyned with a tender
reguard to the welfare of this province And wee doe and
beleive ever shall Esteeme our Selves Safe and easy under
your wise and Iust Administracon And pray for your con-
tinuance
Wee have perusd, And will in due time consider the severall
Articles this day layd before us and wee doubt not but your
Excy (with due respects to those honoble Gent with you) will
