By the House of Delegates Sepr 30th 1704
We have again Considered the message touching the hon-
ourable William Blaythwayte Esqr which was resolved the last
Sessions and that is that the office was not Erected for our
Benefitt nor are we Concerned to support it The Crown that
Created the office has annexed a suitable Sallary to it and
that we are Sensible of we have a great honour for the Gent,
since he is thought worthy of such eminent Employment and
as his Excy is pleased to say he is ready to receive applications
for the Province and we hope while we behave ourselves good
Subjects his Justice will Entitule us to his Countenance and
any favour he shall be pleased to do us we shall not be back-
ward in a suitable acknowledgemt of
We wish your Honours knew the publick Stock because
you please to press us to several Allowances that we have not
mony to answer and therefore we pray your Honours to In-
spect the same and then Consider whether we do not the
utmost we Can

The following Message sent to the House by Col Hammond
By the Council in Assembly October the 2d 1704
It is represented to us that by the bill on foot for Limitting
officers Fees the Surveyours are Retrenched in theirs which
was not observed when read at this Board we think the former
Fees were agreeable to that offices Ingenuity and Trouble and
notify the same to the House that the bill might be engrossed
with the sd oversight rectifyed
