Journal.

Major Low brings from the House a Bill of Repeale and a
Bill declaring several Acts formerly made to be in force
Lawrence Hannin's Petition praying Leave to keep ordi-
nary in the Port of Annapolis without paying fine for a Licence
brought from the House with their Assent and praying the
assent of this Board which is Granted
Mr King and Mr How bring from the House as follows

By the House of Delegates October the 2d 1704.

We have Examined the ffees on Resurveys as retrenched
and it seems to us the Retrenchment is not unreasonable but
Sufficient reward proposed to Encourage Art and Industry
and we hope your Honours will think so too on reading the
same, the Clause is thus Allowed Resurvey of 140 Acres the
same Fees as allowed on primitive Surveys and no more the
former Law was in that part found Excessive burthensome
and this Conceived but moderate and therefore doubt not your
Honours Concurrence to the Engrossed Bill which is now
ready to be sent up

By the Council &c.

The Board resolve that the Sermon preached by Mr Cock-
shutt at the opening of the Church at Annapolis on Sunday
the 24th of September in the Afternoon be printed if the
House shall think fitt

Concurrence

Mr Waters and Mr Magrowder bring up the addresses
signed

The Board adjourns till the Afternoon

morning Engrossed which were assented to by her Majesties
