20 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 11,

Which was read and referred to the Harford county dele-
gation.

Mr. Thomas, of Frederick, presented the petition of sun-
dry citizens of Frederick county, praying the passage of a
law prohibiting the sale of ardent spirits within one mile of
Bear Branch School House, in said county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Brown presented the petition of Solomon Pendar and
one hundred and twelve other citizens, for the enactment of
a law for the protection of fish in the waters of Queen Anne's
county.

Which was read and referred to the Queen Anne's county
delegation, and Mr. Beck, of Kent.

Mr. Blake presented the petition of Mary Gosnell, Eliza;-
beth Roscbell, Elizabeth Myer, and one hundred and sixty
others, asking to be placed on the pension list, in common
with others.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Banner presented the petition of Thomas J. Wheeler,
and one hundred and thirty citizens of Baltimore, praying
for a repeal or modification of the Sunday law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Lankford submitted the following order :

Ordered, That a Committee on the Chesapeake Bay and
its tributaries, to consist of seven members, be added to Rule
15 of the Rules of Order, as one of the Standing Committees
of this House.

Which was read.

Mr. Dennis submitted the following order, as an amend-
ment :

Ordered, That a Committee of one from each of the tide
water counties of the State be appointed, to be styled the
Committee on the Oyster Law.

Which was rejected.
