Pass and
repass.
|
Sec. 11. And be it enacted, That drivers of car-
riages and vehicles of all kinds shall keep their
horses and vehicles on the right hand side of said
road, leaving the other side of the road clear and
free for other vehicles to pass and repass; and if
any driver shall offend against this provision he
shall forfeit and pay not exceeding ten dollars to
every person who shall be obstructed in his pas-
sage, the same to be recovered as in debt, with
cost, before any Justice of the Peace of the county
wherein the offence may occur.

Not to issue.
|
Sec. 12. And be it enacted, That nothing in
this Act shall be so construed as to authorize said
Company or its agents or officers to issue any
script or hank notes, or exercise any banking
privileges.

Sec. 13. And be it enacted, That said Company
is further authorized to allow the stockholders of
any existing turnpike company, incorporated and
owning any part of the bed of the proposed road,
to subscribe their shares of stock in such existing

incorporated, at such a price or valuation as may
be agreed upon between them; provided, there
shall be one uniform price or valuation upon such
shares so commuted from the old into the stock of
the new company, and if any stockholder of said
existing company shall not have paid up his sub-

scription thereto, he shall be required to pay the
arrearages thereof in the same manner as above
provided for original subscribers to this Company.

May purchase.
|
Sec. 14. And be it enacted, That the Company
hereby incorporated is empowered to purchase from
any existing turnpike company incorporated under
the general incorporation law, owning or occupy-
ing any part of the road herein described, all or
any part of their road, property and privileges.

Limit.
|
Sec. 15. And be it enacted, That said road shall
be completed within five years from the passage of
this Act, otherwise the rights and privileges con-
ferred by this Act shall cease.
|
In force.
|
Sec. 16. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
