Said bill, as amended, was then passed by yeas and
nays, as follows:
AFFIRMATIVE.—Messrs. Speaker, Combs, Garner,
Strong, Wilson, Brashears, Donaldson, Hutchins,
Sappington, of Anne Arundel, Ireland, Lane, Carrico,
Maddox, Orrick, Cole, Elliott, Hamilton, Jr., Mon-
monier, Schlaffer, Leonard, Sterling, Miles, Grove, of
Cecil, Feme, Wallen, Hayman, McSherry, Gaver,
Grove, of Frederick, Sappington, of Frederick, Bevard,
Hayward, Deen, Johnson, Thompson, Fitzgerald,
Brennan, Carter, Field, O'Conor, Sams, Cornthwaite,
Joyce, Shafer, Laird, Tracey, Haslup, Ellegood—48.
NEGATIVE—None.
Also,
House bill entitled an Act to declare the sanction
and consent of the General Assembly of Maryland to
sundry gifts, bequests and devices contained in the
last wills and testaments of certain persons, late of
the State of Maryland, deceased, and also to certain
gifts, grants, sales, leases and deeds made by various
persons in this State to and for the use of sundry
ministerial persons, religious corporations, denomi-
nations or sects, and to certain chairtable institutions.
Endorsed: "Read the third time, and passed by
yeas and nays, with proposed amendments."
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Amend bill by adding a new section thereto to fol-
low section 39, and to be known as section 40, and to
read as follows:
"Section 40. That the sanction and consent of the
General Assembly be and is hereby granted and given
to the following bequests of Mary E. Fislage to or for
the use of the several religious sects, orders or de-
nominations hereinafter set forth, viz: First, to the
bequest of said Mary E. Fislage of Howard county, to
the Redemptorists, a body corporate of the State of
Maryland, of the sum of one thousand dollars, said
will being dated January 7th, 1878. Second, to the
bequest of said Mary E. Fislage under said will to the
St. Joseph's German Hospital, of the city of Balti-
more, a body corporate of the State of Maryland, of
the sum of five hundred dollars. Third, to the be-
