CHAPTER 107.


A supplement to an act, entitled, An act to provide for elect-
ing Commissioners, for Cecil county by Districts, and pre-
scribing their powers and duties, passed December Session,
eighteen hundred and thirty-one, chapter one hundred and
sixty-four.

Passed Mar. 1, 1833

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
each of the county Commissioners shall be entitled to three
dollars per day, for every day that he may necessarily at-
tend to the duties of his office.

$3 per diem.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the ninth section of the
act to which this is a supplement be, and the same is here-
by repealed.

CHAPTER 108.


An act to alter and amend the Charter of the Columbia
Turnpike Road Company.

Passed Mar.1, 1833

Section 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly oj Ma-
ryland, That the thirty-second section of the charter of
the Columbia Turnpike Road Company, be, and is hereby
repealed; provided, that any toll gate, that it may be found
necessary to establish, shall be erected on the Columbia
road, and not at, or beyond its junction, with the Rock-
ville and Washington Turnpike Road.

Repeal.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall not be lawful for
the said company to ask, demand or receive, of or from
any person or persons lying on or adjacent to the said
road, within three miles of the said gate, more than half
toll, once in twenty-four hours, and in no event shall any
individual pay more toll than he or she would have been
required to pay by the charter previous to the passage of
this act.
