here this Eighteenth Day of August Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and
twenty Seven that the said Aron Alford pay the Sume of two hundred
pounds of Tobacco as a fine for his afd offence of Committing an assault
and Battery in form afd Confest According to Act of Assembly in Such
Case made also it is Considered that the said Aron pay the Sume of four
hundred and ^Sixty^ Nine pounds of Tobacco Costs accrueing on the premisses

    Phebe Johnson of Kent County Spinster Comes into Court and proves
on the holy Evangilist of almighty God that She has Attended this Court
one Day as an Evidence for his Lordship against the afd Aron Alford being
thereto Lawfully Summoned Whereupon y.e said Aron Alford is ordered to
pay to the said Phebe the Sume of thirty pounds of Tobacco for her
attendance as afd According to Act of Assembly in Such Case Made
and provided

    Ordered by the Court here that the Sherrf of Kent County keep the afd
Aron Alford in Safe Custody untill he Shall Satisfie the fees in the
Judgment afd Specified

Lord prop.ry that now is for the Body of Kent County afd
upon their oath do present that Christian Culley of S.t
pauls parish in the County afd the wife of a Certain Henry Culley of the Same
County Innholder the Sixteenth Day of August Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred
and twenty Seven at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdiction
of this Court in and upon a Certain Elizabeth Young in the peace of God and
and of the s.d Lord prop.ry then and there being with force and Arms an
assault Did Make and her y.e said Elizabeth then and there Did Beat wound
and Evilly treat so that of her life it was much Dispaired and other harms
to her then and there Did to the Great Damage of the Same Elizabeth and
Contrary to the peace of y.e said Lord prop.ry that now is his good Rule and
Government &c.a                                T francis Cler. pac.

    On the Back of y.e preceeding Indictment was as foll.s viz.t A true Bill by
Will.m Ringgold Foreman  John Hannen Geo. Rennalds Evidences

    And the afd Christian Culley in her proper person Comes and Saith that
She is in no Sort Guilty of the premisses above upon her Imposed as by
