CHAPTER 47.
An act for the benefit of Eliza Dodson, of Talbot county.
Whereas, it has been represented by the petition of Eliza Dodson
of St. Michaels, in Talbot county, that she intermarried with a cer-
tain Terrence Dooris, a native of Ireland, who had for several years
previous to their intermarriage resided in Talbot county aforesaid,
and had borne to said Dooris two children, viz. Margaret Ann and
William Terrence, but which marriage afterwards proved to be ille-
gal and void; and that said Terrence Dooris and Eliza Dodson had
acquired certain property during their reputed intermarriage, which
said property was devised by said Terrence Dooris, at his death, to
said Eliza Dodson during her natural life, and after her death, to her
said children: and whereas, said Eliza Dodson in her petition has
prayed that her name may be changed to Eliza Dooris, and those of
her children to Margaret Ann Dooris and William Terrence Dooris;
and also that the Executor of said Terrence Dooris may be authoris-
ed, after the payment of the debts of the deceased to pay over the re-
sidue of the personal estate according to the terms of the will of the
testator—Therefore,

Preamble.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the name of Eliza Dodson, of St. Michaels, in Talbot county, be, and
the same is hereby changed to Eliza Dooris, and that those of her chil-
dren be confirmed to Margaret Ann Dooris and William Terrence
Dooris, and that all the rights and privileges which have been or now
are enjoyed by said Eliza Dodson and her children aforesaid, and that
all liabilities to which they now are or might hereafter have become
subject under the name of Dodson, or any other name by which they
may have been or are now known and designated, be, and are hereby
continued and extended to them under the name of Dooris; and that
any children which they or any of any of them may hereafter have or
bear, unless the name of such of them to whom such child or children
may be born, be changed by marriage or some other lawful means,
shall take and bear the name of Dooris.

2. And be it enacted, That the executor of Terrence Dooris, late of
Talbot county, deceased, be, and he is hereby authorised and empow-
ered, after payment of the debts due by the testator, and all other just
and legal charges against the estate, to pay over the residue of the
personal estate of said testator, to Eliza Dooris, the legatee named in
said will: Provided, the said Eliza Dooris give bond to the state of
Maryland, to be registered in the office of Register of Wills of Tal-
bot county, in such penalty and with such security as may be approv-
ed by the Orphans' court of said county, for the repayment on de-
mand of any part or portion of the personal estate of said testator to
any person or persons legally claiming the same, and that such bond
may be put in suit at the instance, and for the use of any person or
persons claiming a part, portion or the whole of the aforesaid residue
of said personal estate, as in the case of the bond of an executor or ad-
ministrator.

CHAPTER 48.
An act to repeal an act entitled, "an act to prevent Hogs from going at large in
the town of Westminster, in Frederick county," passed at November session,
1797, chap. 47.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That an act en-
titled, "an act to prevent Hogs from going at large in the town of
Westminster in Frederick county," passed at November session, 1797",
chap. 47, be, and the same is hereby repealed.
