857) 883 Know al men by these p.rsents that I Dame Letitia Bowden of London Widdow Ex.rx of y.e last will and Testament of S.r John Bowden late of London Knight my late husband dec.d for divers good cases and Considerations me hereunto moveing Have made constituted and appointed & by these p.rsents doe make ordaine constitute and appoint his Ex.cy Co.ll Francis Nicholson Governour of Maryland my true and Lawfull Att.ry for me and in my name and to my use to ask demand sue for leavy recover and receive of and from Richard Sowter and of and from Elizabeth Diggs Widdow y.e Relict of Con.b William Diggs late of Maryland afd Dec.d and of and from all and every the person and psons whatsoever that doe or shall inhabitt or Reside in Maryland afores.d all and every such sume and sums of money Tobacco goods and merchandizes whatsoever as are or shall be aney wayes or upon any account due or belonging to me to me either in my owen Right or as Ex.rx of my said husband and y.e same to remit to me And alsoe for me and in my name to selle and adjust accounts w.th y.e said Richard Sowter and w.th y.e said Elizabeth Diggs and with all and every y.e said pson or psons and to make composition w.th them every or any of them for y.e debts by them respectively owing to me and to accompt of sume and sumes of money or other satisfaction for and discharge of y.e said debts every or aney of them as my said att.ry shall think fitting and upon his reciept of what shall upon adjusting each account or makeing such such composition or otherwise be due to me or of aney part thereof reciept acquitances released or any other discharges for me and in my name to make execute and give in part or in full as y.e case shall Require And alsoe to carry on aney suite allready begunn or to comence or prosecute any other suite or suites or to sue forth any processe for me and in my name against y.e said Richard Sowther and Elizabeth Diggs and y.e said other pson and psons every or aney of them their every or any of their Ex.rs or Adm.rs and them every or any of them their every or any of their goods Chatles Lands or Tenements in Execution to Take and out of execution to deliver at y.e will and pleasure of my said Att.ry Giving and hereby granting unto my said att.ry my full power and authority in and touching y.e p.rmisses and to substitute and appoint one or more att.ry and att.rys under him and generally to doe or cause to be done all and every such further and other Lawfull acts matters and things in and touching y.e p.rmisses or aney of them as shall be needfull and convenient to be done as fully and effectually as I my selfe could doe if I were psonally p.rsent and whatsoever my said att.ry shall Lawfully doe or cause to be done in & touching y.e p.rmisses by virtue of these p.rsents I shall and will & hereby doe ratifie and confirme and allow to all Intents and purposes And I doe hereby revoke make voyde countermande and annull all and every such Letter & Letters of att.ry powers comissions and orders as have beene by me at aney time heretofore made or given to be made y.e said Richard Sowter and all y.e Power and authority thereby or by aney of them to him given and Doe declare the same to be from henceforth absolutely voyde and of none effect In Wittness I have hereunto set my hand and seale y.e one and thirtieth day of August Anno domi 1698 and penny stamp) in the p.rsence of Jn.o Mills Nicholas Smith Maryland fs To all Christian People to whome this p.rsent writing shall come Know yee That I Samuell Dryer of y.e County of Ann Arrund.ll in y.e Province of Maryland Planter for and Consideration of y.e naturall love and affection which I now have and beare to my most deare and well beloved wife Susannah Dryer and for her better support after my decease if it shall please God y.e said Susannah should happen to survive me as likewise in consideration that my said wife doth accept this deed of Guift in full satisfaction of her Dower Doe hereby give grant enfeoff and confirme And doe by this p.rsent writing give grant enfeoff and confirme unto my said Dear and loving wife Susannah Dryer her heires and assignes for ever All those two peices and parcells of Land whereon I now live called and Known by y.e name of Fenders Choice and Sheppards Range and containe by survey two hundred acres of Land which I purchased of Nicholas Sheppard And all that piece or parcell of Land adjoyning called or knowne by y.e name of Chillton and contains by Pattent of Survey Forty acres which I purchased of one Richard Green And alsoe that peice and parcell of Land lyeing on y.e west side of y.e Branch of Petuxant River called and Knowne by y.e name of Dryers Inheritance taken up and granted ot me by Pattent 10.th day of March 1695 and layd by survey for two hundred and Fifty and four Acres of Land more or Less to my said dear and loving wife her heirs and assignes for ever To y.e only use and behoofe of my said deare and loving wife her heires and assignes for ever all which Four peices of Land |
