their applicability to current conditions;

(b)   Hold hearings at which persons with
an interest in the racing and allied industries
may present their views;

(c)   Conduct such meetings, research
projects, inspections and discussions as may be
necessary to gather information relating to the
subject;

(d)   Obtain from the Department of Budget
and Fiscal Planning, the Comptroller of the
Treasury, and Racing Commission and other State
agencies such information as to the fiscal and
other effects of proposals as may be relevant in
framing its recommendations; and

(e)   Make such recommendations as to the
future organization, structure, financing,
promotion and regulation of the racing and allied
industries in Maryland and of the Racing
Commission and as to other matters relating to
such industries as may appear to it to be in the
public interest, and render a report, together
with legislative proposals, prior to the
convening of the 1980 Session of the General
Assembly.

4.    All State departments and agencies shall
cooperate with the Commission on Racing Reform in
achieving its objectives; and

5.    This Executive Order shall take effect as
of the date of its issue.
