be operated for profit, the prohibition against
considering the "ability to pay" in this section
might be studied.

SUBTITLE 5. CHRONIC DISEASE CENTERS.
19-501. DEFINITIONS.

(A)   IN GENERAL.

IN THIS SUBTITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.

(B)  BOARD.

"BOARD" MEANS A CITIZENS' ADVISORY BOARD FOR A CENTER.

(C)  CENTER.

"CENTER" MEANS A CHRONIC DISEASE CENTER.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language added to
avoid repetition of the longer phrases "citizens'
advisory board for a center" and "chronic disease

center".

19-502. PURPOSE AND LOCATION.

(A)   IN GENERAL.

THERE ARE 3 CHRONIC DISEASE CENTERS FOR INDIVIDUALS
WHO:

(1)  NEED CONSTANT MEDICAL AND NURSING CARE BY
REASON OF CHRONIC ILLNESS OR INFIRMITY; OR

(2)  HAVE A CHRONIC DISABILITY AMENABLE TO
REHABILITATION.

(B)  LOCATIONS.

ONE CENTER SHALL BE LOCATED IN EACH OF THE FOLLOWING
PLACES:

(1) THE EASTERN SHORE.
