WICOMICO COUNTY
titled "Legislative sessions for the enactment of legislation."
of Article III titled "The Legislative Branch", of the Charter of
Wicomico County, Maryland, as adopted by the voters of Wicomico
County, Maryland, on December 3, 1964, to provide for three (3)
legislative sessions annually, of thirteen (13) days each,
commencing on February 1, June 1, and October 1, of each year,
and six (6) additional special session days which may, but need
not be consecutive. Adopted February 15, 1982.
(Approved at Referendum)
Bill No. 4 AN ACT to regulate Ethics of County Officials, to create a
County Ethics Commission, provide for certain financial
disclosures and to provide penalties for certain violations of
the requirements of the Ethics Law. WHEREAS, the State of Maryland, by virtue of Article 40A of
the Annotated Code of Maryland, 1957 Edition, as amended, has
required Wicomico County, as well as the other Counties of
Maryland to enact an Ethics Law similar to the Ethics Law enacted
by the State of Maryland in said Article 40A, and the County
Council for Wicomico County wishes to comply with said law
(Chapter 37). Adopted February 15, 1982.
Bill No. 6 AN ACT to repeal and reenact with amendments, Chapter 39 of
the Wicomico County Code (1978 Edition) titled "FIRE AND
AMBULANCE COMPANIES AND RESCUE SQUADS" and such other local laws
pertaining to the subject matter of this Chapter as may have been
heretofore enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland and the
Wicomico County Council, authorizing an annual appropriation not
to exceed Sixteen Thousand dollars ($16,000.00) EIGHTEEN THOUSAND
FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($18,500.000) for EACH OF the several
Volunteer Fire Companies in the said County and authorizing an
annual appropriation of Four Thousand, SIX HUNDRED Dollars
($4,600.00) each for EACH OF the several combined ambulance
companies and rescue squads in the said County and authorizing an
annual appropriation of Two Thousand THREE HUNDRED Dollars
($2,300.00) for those companies operating a rescue squad and
authorizing an annual appropriation to the City of Salisbury for
the support of its fire companies. Adopted June 15, 1982.
