or instrument of writing and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of
Almighty God that at the time of receiving the said Bill of Sale,
or instrument of writing, ^he^ the said Samuel Dunnock and not know
of the requisitions of the Act of the General Assembly of Maryland
Chapter 280 passed March 10 1845, requiring the said Bill of Sale,
or instrument of writing to be stamped or marked as therein provided,
and that it was written on paper marked or stamped with a less
sum than is required by said Act with no intention to evade
the provisions of said act.            Sworn before

Received June 171 1851 of Samuel Dunnock, the grantee named
in the aforegoing Bill of Sale or instrument of writing, the sum
of one dollar in lieu of a Stamp on said Bill of Sale,
and also the additional sum of Ten dollars paid by the said
Samuel Dunnock in consequence of the said Bill of Sale
having been written on paper stamped with a less sum
than is required by the Act of Assembly passed March 10 1845,
Chapter 280.                                                Wm Jackson   Clk.


Hiram W. Woolford      Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale
Ex.d       from      75      was recorded on the 16.th day of June 1851, To wit:
Jerome Richardson        {Stamp}   Know all men by these presents that I,
                                    {one dol.}  Jerome Richardson, of Dorchester County in
the State of Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred
and sixty five dollars, current money, to me in hand paid by Hiram W.
Woolford, of said County & State, at and before the sealing & delivering of
these presents, the receipt whereof I, the said Jerome Richardson, do hereby
acknowledge, have granted, bargained & sold, and by these presents do
grant, bargain & sell, unto the said Hiram W. Woolford, his Executors,
Administrators and Assigns, all the goods herein after particularly mentioned,
that is to say, one negro Woman Mariah, one Horse, one
four wheel Carriage, two Beds & Bedsteads, one Mahogany Table
and one Mahogany Bureau, which said goods & Chattels were purchased
at the seal of M.rs Busick by the said Jerome Richardson, and are now
remaining, standing & being on the premises of the said Jerome
Richardson and in his profession.  To have and to hold all and
singular the said goods, Negro Woman, Household stuff and furniture and
other the premises above bargained & sold, or mentioned and intended so
to be, to the said Hiram W. Woolford his Executors, Administrators and
Assigns, forever:  And I the said Jerome Richardson for myself, my
heirs, Executors and Administrators, all & singular the said goods,
Household stuff, Negro Woman and furniture, and Horse & Cariage
and other the premises unto the said Hiram W. Woolford, his Executors,
