RESOLUTIONS.
Mr. Robinson submitted the following Resolution:

Resolved, That while feeling equal sorrow and regret
for the loss of life among the gallant burghers of South
Africa and the brave British soldiers, and condoling with
those who sit and weep in England and in the Transvaal
for the loss of their loved ones on the battlefield, it is
the sense of the General Assembly of Maryland, that
the cause of the burghers is as just as was the cause of
the American Colonies in 1776, and ought to succeed;
that they are entitled to their independence, and that in
their struggle against the tyranny of an arrogant coterie
now controlling the British Government, they have the
warmest sympathy of all lovers of liberty.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Federal Relations.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.

Mr. Lehmayer, from the Committee on the Judiciary,
reported favorably,

House bill entitled "An Act to add au additional sec-
tion to Article 27, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title 'Crimes and Punishments, ' sub-title 'Jurisdiction,
Procedure and Sentence, 'sub-division, 'Procedure, Indict-
ments, ' to be known as 'Section 291 C. ' "

Which was read a first time.

Also unfavorably,

House bill entitled "An Act to amend Article 52, of the
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title 'Justices
of the Peace, ' sub-title 'Process and Practice, ' by adding
a new section thereto, to be designated 'Section 29 A, ' to
come in after section 29 of said Article, and to provide
for a removal of causes from one Justice of the Peace to
another within the same jurisdiction.

Said unfavorable report was adopted.

Also favorably, with the following proposed amend-
ments:

House bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 14, of
Article 9, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
