State, or of the United States, as they may judge necessary
for the government of said Society

Increase shares
|
Sec 3 And be it enacted, That the Society shall have
power, in like manner, to increase the number of shares, if
necessary, and to enforce the payment of any sums due,
fines and defalcations, by warrant, before a magistrate, or
by suit in any court of record, according to law.

An act to confirm the proceedings of the Commissioners in
locating and bounding the Eighth Election District, in
Washington County
|
|
|
Preamble
|
WHEREAS, by an act of the Legislature, passed at De
cember session, eighteen hundred and thirty two, chapter
ninety two, and confirmed at December session, eighteen
hundred and thirty three, chapter thirty, three Commission-
ers were appointed to lay off an additional election district
in Washington county, AND WHEREAS, an additional dis-
trict hath been lard off and called the eighth electron dis-
trict, AND WHEREAS, there appears some doubts do exist,
whether the proceedings in said case, had by the aforesaid
commissioners, were strictly in accordance with the afore-
said act, — Therefore,

Section 1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the proceedings had by the commissioners ap
pointed to locate and bound the Eighth Election District in
the county aforesaid, shall be effectual and binding to all
intents and purposes, and that the said district shall be en-
titled to elect a commissioner for Washington County, for
said district, in the same manner as other districts in the
county are entitled to do

Sec 2 And be it enacted, That the proceedings of the
commissioners of Washington county, in the aforesaid case
had, are hereby ratified and confirmed
|
