Baltimore City SS.
          Be it remembered that on this 25.th day of September 1856
before the subscriber a justice of the peace for said City appears
John O'Donnell Purchaser & Robert Fowler seller & acknowledges
the above & within Bill of Sale to be their act and deed
according to the true intent & meaning thereof.  And at the same ^time^
also appeared Robert Fowler & made oath on the Holy Evangely
of Almighty God that the consideration therein set forth is
true & bona fide as set forth
    Acknowledged & sworn to before      W.m H. Hayward J. P.
    State of Maryland Baltimore City, Sct.
             I hereby certify that W.m H. Hayward Esquire before whom
the annexed acknowledgments were made and who has thereto
subscribed his name was at the time of so doing a Justice of the
Peace of the State of Maryland in and for the City of Baltimore
duly commissioned and sworn
       (Seals)      In testimony whereof I hereto set my hand
       (Place)      and affix the seal of the Superior Court of Baltimore
City this twenty fifth day of September A. D. 1856

          Bill of sale To
Napoleon B. Welsh
Know all men by these presents
that I Thomas Hatfield of Howard
County in the State of Maryland
in consideration of sundry liabilities
entered into and assumed by Napoleon B. Welsh for
me.  To Wit The sum of Twenty dollars interest and
cost to William Zepp.  The sum of twenty three dollars
to John Forsythe   the sum of twenty dollars to John
Forsythe the sum of thirty dollars to M.rs Ann
Booth the sum of twenty five dollars to Walter
Dorsey the sum of nineteen dollars and fifty six cents
to M W Warfield & co the sum of seventy dollars
twenty one cents to said M. W. Warfield & co and
the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars
by note of the 23d of July 1856 to Zachariah Brown
and also in the further consideration of one dollar
current money to me the said Thomas Hatfield
in hand paid by the said Napoleon B Welsh
before the sealing and delivery of these presents
the receipt of which I the said Thomas Hatfield
