State of Maryland             Whereas application hath been made
Caroline County to wit      to me by a negro woman named Leander
Wight for a certificate agreeably to an act of assembly passed
at november Session Eighteen hundred and five by which said act
free negroes and molatoes are permitted to travel out of the said state
upon their obtention of a certificate of being free Born.  And whereas
also upon the oath of Elizabeth Murphey of the County aforesaid that
the said negro woman Leander to whom this certificate is delivered
was free born I do therefore grant her said application and hereby
certify that the said negro girl named Leander Wright is five
feet five Inches and three fourths of an Inch high or thereabouts
she is rather slender built of a yellowish Complexion and no other
notable marks that I hvae discovered   says she is nineteen years
and six months old or thereabouts
                      In Tesitmony whereof i have hereunto set my hand
(seal)              and affixed the public seal of my office this 20th day of
                      July in the year Eighteen hundred and fifteen

State of Maryland Caroline County to wit
Whereas heretofore to wit at march Term Seventeen hundred
and niunety nine a certain Black mnan by the name of Isaac
by his Petititon for freedom to the Judges of Caroline County
Court obtained his freedom and by the Judgment of the
same court was liberated and discharged from all manner
of servitude from a certain Thomas Baynard of the County and
State aforesaid.  Therefore be it known that whereas the said
Black man named Isaac hath made application to me for
a certificate of his freedom agreeable to an act of assembly
in such case made and provided and being satisfied by
the oath of Leven Swiggett J.r of the state of Delaware that
the said negro man named Isaac to whom this certificate
is delivered is the Identical person who obtained his freedom
