{ 301 } The last Will and Testament of Thomas Pell [?] Late of Kent County and State of Maryland Deceased, declared by him by Word of Mouth, on the Thirty first ~ day of October Seventeen hundred and Eighty Nine, being then Sick of the Sickness ~ whereof he Died, in the Presence of us the Subscribers, who sign our Names as Witnesses thereof, which words so Spoken were as Follows Viz.t that he wished William Pell to Administer on his Estate, that after all his Just Debts ware paid, his Wife Ann Pell should have the Negro girl Grace, and the Child she had by him should have five Shillings as its Legacy, the Remainder of his Estate, if any, to be Equally divided, Between his other children, Sarah, Mary, ~ Cassander and the child he had by Sarah Hines, and that Sarahs Part should be paid ~ her at the Discretion of W.m Pell, if Sarah should Die before she Receives all her Part that the Residue shall go to her eldest Child now living. In Witness ~ whereof we have hereunto set our hands this thirty first Day of October 1789. in the Evening- The above Nuncupative will was \ William Pell \ given, on the Day and Year Above riten \ William Semans / by the two Subscribing Witness / W.m Grindage I do hereby Acknowledge that I do Abide and Stand to the Verbal or ~ Nuncupative Will which my Husband Thomas Pell late of Kent County and State of Maryland deceased made in his Sickness of which he Died, and also Resine the Administration fully and Freely, to W.m Pell who has the Largest demand Against the Dece.ds Estate of any as yet known, in Witness hereof I have hereunto put my hand this eight day of December one thousand Seven hundred ~ and Eighty Nine Nancy Pell Witness ~ \ George Cole \ [illegible] / |
